July 2021, Fit for Life was awarded an assessment project, aimed at evaluating the capabilities and potentials of 300 leaders in over 15 public sector firms within the chemicals sector in Egypt. The requirements were a simple assessment, using one or two tools, similar to the prevailing model in the local market. But we do not operate in such approach. We believe assessment of talents must be based on a comprehensive model that encompasses every dimension and variable that might impact performance and impact. Hence, we started with a full review of all documentations within the companies, their vision, strategies, business priorities, operational and people challenges. Next, we delivered strategic transformation workshops with all companies’ CEOs, to ensure alignment on the direction, the sought culture, the optimum leadership profile, and ultimately develop the competence framework, on leadership, functional and technical levels. This was followed by a detailed review of the profiles and backgrounds of all 300 talents. Once all the data was analyzed, our team of practitioner consultants started designing all components of the assessment. This included a full day assessment center, featuring a real life and industry related case study, 3 different role plays and group situations, as well as a competence-based interview and a technical knowledge-base assessment, focusing on the specific function the leaders are assigned for. Finally, a specially designed and tailored psychometric assessment was conducted in collaboration with our strategic partners Persona International, translated into business-professional Arabic language. Once all tools were ready, the team of top-notch consultants {all practitioners with rich expertise in senior position in multinational firms}, conducted the assessment centers across the country, finalizing all assessment activities and evaluations within a record time of 4 weeks. The end product was not a simple evaluation report. It actually extended to providing full insights on every talent, the potential next career move, whether vertical or lateral, the specific developmental needs whether to excel in current role or to be ready for promotion. In addition, the final report provided a detailed proposal for the developmental means for every talent, whether direct training, coaching or field involvement in experiential projects. a rich assignment, we were proud of our contribution to a national cause, as well as our ability to set a professional comprehensive model that can be followed in future to ensure full objectivity and transparency, as well as secure long-term value and sustainable growth for the businesses and the individuals. We were honored by the positive feedback received from our governmental partners, as well as their decision to assign Fit for Life as the main long-term assessor for all talents in the sector.
